Meditation on Joy (metta lovingkindness)

Part way through the month, I realized that my prayer/meditation practices were in some disarray and it was getting in the way of finding joy. I gave myself a fresh start and returned to practicing loving kindness meditation, sometimes called metta meditation. In this traditional Buddhist practice, you wish blessings on yourself and others, including those you love, those with whom you have difficulty and all beings. It's an example of spiritual wisdom: if you want something, give it to others.

This month's meditation includes metta meditation and also invites you into deep gratitude for the present moment.
